Maintenance & Support Services

This section is entitled to support ICT services to legitimate end users in the institution, including both staff and students.To help them fully exploit and productively use the ICT resources in the university by ensuring that all ICT equipment is well maintained and also by offering ICT support and services to resolve any problem experienced by the end user while upholding the set ICT policies and procedures.

           The main roles are:

  • Answer routine, necessary and complicated inquiries via the helpdesk, email and telephone on a daily basis from staff and students and dealing with these swiftly and professionally.
  • Troubleshoot systems and networks and diagnose while working closely with Network and System Administrators to solve the hardware, software, and network faults.
  • Providing user support including procedures, documentation and relevant reports.
  • Setting up new user’s accounts and profiles while ensuring users login in through the domain.
  • Provide user support and training.
  • Ensure users have systems working and up to date antivirus.
  • Keep systems current with licenses and adherence to warranty
  • Carrying out scheduled and unscheduled ICT equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain up to date inventory of University College ICT Equipment.
  • Test and evaluate new technology.
  • Install and upgrade both systems and applications software adhering to all licensing regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain general consumables stocks to ensure adequate supplies are available promptly ensuring best value at all times, maintain reorder level.
  • Maintenance of user data backup with sufficient frequencies.
  • Maintain data integrity and security of the university data and access, and safeguarding against unauthorized use and access.
  • Providing specifications for devices for use in support and maintenance.
